2009 Award for Excellence
Jo Anne Upchurch has been selected as the Extension, Engagement & Economic Development 2009 Awards for Excellence winner. As the first step in the award recognition, she was nominated by the Leadership Team for McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education (MCE&CE) in the Outstanding Service Category.
As stated in her nomination, "No employee is more dedicated or performs at a higher quality standard than JoAnne. She brings a level of excellence to her position that is unmatched by anyone else in our organization of 140 employees. JoAnne seeks solutions to issues, supporting the unit directors and the office on a daily basis with integrity, intelligence, business savvy, and a historical perspective of the Division and NC State University. She doesn't seek the 'spotlight' for her efforts. She quietly and patiently supports the organization and her co-workers with attention to detail, accuracy, common sense, loyalty, and an exhibition of professional ethics.
"Jo Anne is knowledgeable about all aspects of the MCE&CE operation ranging from the various educational programs and services, the Continuing Education Unit approval process, the Non-Degree Credit Reporting System to the complex appropriated receipts and grants budgets. She is trustworthy, thorough and responsive to any and all needs."
Her nomination was prepared by the Directors of Assessment, Contractual Education & Partnership Development, Accounts Receivables Center, Center for Urban Affairs, Computer Training Unit, Encore, McKimmon Conference & Training Center, and Office of Professional Development in addition to the Assistant Vice Chancellor.
Congratulations Jo Anne!
