Economics of Water: From Coal Ash to "Chinatown"



Held in person at McKimmon Center: This class explores contemporary issues in the use and misuse of water resources through the lens of the field of economics. We will introduce key conceptual ideas from economics to explain how humans make decisions about water use and where we run into problems. The class will be grounded in examples, such as water scarcity in California, water pollution in North Carolina, groundwater management, and property rights to water.
