This course will introduce you to Iran, in a participatory format that includes conversation and activities. Topics to be explored include Iran’s history, from ancient days to current revolutions, and its landscape and geography. We will study the ethnicities of the people through their culture, traditions, language, and foodways, art and music. Please be prepared to stay curious, ask questions and engage in conversations without prejudgments. Sharing personal knowledge and experiences is welcome. Note: this course is focused on the cultural aspects of Iran; politics and policy will not be primary topics of discussion.
