Lecture -- All About Ham Radio

Amateur Radio, also called ham radio, is a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics and communication together. People use ham radio to talk across town, around the world, or even into space, all without the Internet or cell phones. It's fun, social, educational, and can be a lifeline during times of need.  In this session, we’ll discuss the origins of this over 100 year old hobby, and how it differs from Citizen’s Band (CB) radio. We’ll discuss its benefits, how to get involved, and why you might want to become a “ham.”
