Marine aquaculture plays a critical role in seafood supply and can provide sources of sustainable seafood, that is, seafood with positive environmental, social, and economic impact. North Carolina’s top marine aquaculture species are oysters, clams, and softshell crabs. You will learn how they are raised, and current aquaculture production practices. You will also get a taste of the NC Oyster Trail, which offers unique tourism experiences centered on our state’s delicious oysters.
