Study Trip -- NC State's Dinah E. Gore Teaching and Research Kitchens



The Dinah E. Gore Teaching and Research Kitchens at NC State opened in February 2019. The focus of this state-of-the-art facility is to teach safe food preparation and preservation; research questions related to food ingredients, labelling, and food safety; and develop healthy recipes that extension agents can use to share with the public. The kitchen philosophy is that everyone can learn to prepare delicious, healthy, and safe food that can have a beneficial effect on overall health.

Notes: Participants will be seated for most of the session. The visit will last approximately 90 minutes. Participants will be required to comply with all NC State University COVID-19 directives in place at the time of this study trip, including possibly the wearing of a mask. Details will be provided via email nearer the date. If you find yourself unable to participate in this trip, please contact the office; no substitutions are permitted.  

Includes: Tour and demonstrations. Participants will drive themselves to the venue on Brickhaven, close to the NC State Arboretum.

Meeting Time: We will outside the main entrance doors to the building at 9:45 am. Directions and parking instructions will be provided in advance of the study trip.

The event will last approximately ninety minutes.
