The Vietnam War is a conflict that is still not easily understood. John Booth fought as a Marine Lieutenant in two wars in Vietnam. The first was a counterinsurgency against Viet Cong guerrillas. The second was a conventional war against the North Vietnamese Army. This course will discuss both strategies, but will focus more on the counterinsurgency, interspersed with the instructor’s personal experiences and perspective. A session on the Tet Offensive, the turning point of the war, will be included. Finally, we will close with "what happened?"
