North Carolina State University's TESOL Certificate Program is designed for individuals who want to teach English abroad or in their local community. The program covers seven areas important to ESL instructors, such as learning in different cultural contexts, implementing effective classroom strategies, teaching pronunciation, and teaching reading, writing, and vocabulary. Each course is taught by an experienced ESL instructor. Learn more about our instructors.
Please note: The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Program is not a North Carolina ESL K-12 Teacher Licensure Program. Information about the NC State ESL Licensure Program can be found here.
