Who We Are

The Office of Professional Development (OPD) is a unit of NC State Continuing and Lifelong Education. Dedicated to the development and delivery of non-degree professional training courses, OPD provides you with a broad range of quality educational opportunities in a flexible, comfortable, and affordable learning environment.

Expo in McKimmon Center

OPD offers a variety of experiences, including conferences, seminars, and in-house/on-site training, to assist you in your professional development and your work. Most courses can be brought to your workplace or other location of your choosing, including dedicated training for your organization at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center on NC State’s campus. Courses can be customized so you and your employees receive training tailored to your specific needs. Whether you are self-employed, from a Fortune 500 organization, a small privately held company, or government agency, you can find training to provide you with the knowledge and skill sets to enhance your career and enrich your life.

Whether you take advantage of a seminar, a conference, a hands-on workshop, or an on-site presentation, the professional development training course at NC State will prepare you and your organization to become more:

  1. Productive
  2. Efficient
  3. Cost-effective

Your satisfaction is guaranteed so join us for a course and let us help you to enhance your professional skills. *If you are a person with a disability and desire any assistive devices, services or other accommodations to participate in any of our courses, please contact us during business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern) to discuss accommodations at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
