NCSCaLE is a key strategic leader, catalyst and partner in the development and delivery of cutting-edge, market-driven continuing and lifelong education programs and services that benefit individuals, organizations and communities throughout North Carolina and beyond. Established in 1924 as the College Extension Division, NCSCaLE has proudly carried on the tradition of public service first established by Jane S. McKimmon, a pioneer in the field of continuing education.

NCSCaLE serves as a hub of activity offering continuing and lifelong learning opportunities in face-to-face, online and hybrid modalities, utilizing professional meeting facilities for small to large groups, and providing technical assistance as well as outreach and engagement to a variety of organizations, agencies and communities.  We served 159,523 participants and conducted 1,839 education programs, courses and events during the 2019-2020 fiscal year. 

NCSCaLE staff remain dedicated to partner with our world-class faculty and academic departments, as well other subject matter experts to provide relevant and market-driven content that our clients and participants seek for their continuing and lifelong education needs. Through our partnerships, creative programming, dynamic member opportunities, and a comprehensive range of applied research and technical assistance, you will find the solutions to your continuing education, professional development, meeting facility, and public policy needs.
