Official Program Description

This eighteen-hour course will focus on developing apps for Windows using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3. You will explore app creation for the Windows Store using controls, forms, menus, and data sources. This course will allow you the opportunity to create sample apps as part of the class content. After this introduction to Windows app development, it is recommended that you take the online course, Windows App Development, for an in-depth exploration of Windows app programming concepts and to develop your own e-portfolio of Windows apps.

Who Should Attend

Anyone interested in developing apps for Windows 8 or later, and Windows mobile devices using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3

Expected Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you will know about building Windows Store apps. You will know about the fundamentals of WinJS and how to use the controls.


  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and comfortable using applications such as Microsoft Office in a Windows environment.
  • User level experience with mobile apps.
  • Basic programming experience preferred.
