Study Trip -- Randleigh Heritage Museum at the NC State Dairy Farm

We will tour the Randleigh Dairy Heritage Museum at the NC State Dairy Farm, and cap off our tour with Howling Cow ice cream. The museum is an agritourism experience that will allow you to learn how milk gets from the farm to the table. It also honors the Kenan family, whose generous support helped create this educational destination. The Jersey cows at the farm are descended from William Rand Kenan’s original stock. The interactive museum will show you how a typical North Carolina dairy farm operates. Learn how NC State raises cows that produce milk and yummy Howling Cow ice cream!

Notes: Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as we will be walking and standing for most of the tour. This is an operating dairy farm so be aware of your surroundings and do not touch the animals. We will be provided foot covers for a portion of the tour; please be able to bend over and put them on yourselves.

Activity Level 2 - Climb flight(s) of stairs, walk on uneven surfaces like gravel or grass, stand for over an hour.
