Aging in Place: Building Your Strategic Plan

Aging in place is growing in popularity as a long-term living solution for many older adults. Simply put, to "age in place" means to remain in one's home for as long as possible, instead of relocating to a senior care facility. In some situations, this lifestyle is a more affordable option and can increase independence and quality of life. This course will cover many aspects of creating an aging-in-place plan, including housing options, financial concerns, health, transportation, and social issues. Both the benefits and challenges associated with aging in place will be discussed. We will spend time discussing non-traditional housing arrangements where there is some additional level of community support for aging in place, such as the Village concept and other types of co-housing arrangements that have come online recently.

Registration deadline: Sept. 8
