This course is an examination of the fundamental aspects of insect rearing where you will study what makes insect diets succeed, and how environmental factors (such as temperature, humidity, air exchange, light conditions, and microbes) are involved in the quality and stability of insect rearing procedures. This course will also include the genetics and epigenetics of insect rearing and how the various components interact. A major emphasis in this course is how you may identify and treat stress inflicted on our reared insects and how eliminating stress helps define a high-quality product.
