Lecture -- Metals in Our Lives



Metals have many uses and are infinitely recyclable. In modern life, we use countless objects every day, many made of various metals and by metal tools and metal-based processes. Every technological advance involves some engineering of one or more metallic element. Using everyday language, this lecture will describe the metals we encounter daily, the properties of metals, the processes by which they are produced, and how mankind came to discover and make use of these materials.
