NC State’s Crafts Center is a wonderful resource for students, staff and members of the public. We will unleash our creativity to make holiday ornaments from clay. Artist and Clay Studio Manager, Jennifer Siegel, will instruct you how to roll the clay, apply different textures and cut ornaments from cookie cutters or create custom designs (bring your own cutters if you have favorites). Specialty slips and underglazes will be applied to enhance each piece! Items will be fired, glazed, and ready for pick-up before the closing of fall semester.

Two identical sessions are offered – please register for the time that best fits your schedule.

Notes: Bring a filled beverage bottle to keep you hydrated and an old shirt or tunic to cover your clothes as you craft. Participants will be required to comply with all NC State University COVID-19 directives in place at the time of this study trip, which might include wearing a mask.  Details will be provided via email nearer the date. If you find yourself unable to participate in this trip, please contact the office; no substitutions are permitted.  

Includes: Instruction, materials, and firing. Participants will use their own transport. Parking suggestions and a location map will be provided in your reminder email. You may also choose to ride the university's free Wolfine bus from the McKimmon Center.

Meeting Time: 10:45 am at the Crafts Center on NC State's main campus. The session will start at 11:00 am and last 90 minutes.

End Time: 12:30 pm

Instance 000002:

Meeting Time: 1:45 am at the Crafts Center on NC State's main campus. The session will start at 2:00 pm and last 90 minutes.

End Time: 3:30 pm
